Ok, before going on, SPOILER ALERT!!!! Don’t read on if u want to get spoiled for the movie of the books!!!!! Ok, so now that’s out of the way, on with the review!!!


Now, I have been a long time fan of the Cirque du Freak books, I believe I started them in 6th grade, I’m in 11th now, and I love them. It was just so creepy and mysterious, and I loved how the vampires were portrayed in the books (that’s why the first time I read Twilight I was like “wtf?” ANYWAY, so a few weeks ago I saw a commercial for this movie and at first I thought it was some parody of all the other vampire stuff that is coming out. But I looked into it more and got SOOO excited that my fav book series was becoming a movie!!! I looked at the casting, all the clips and trailer and got really pumped for it, my friends too.
So on Friday night I took my friends Hayley and Jordan to see the movie. Hayley has only read the manga version of the books, she hates reading XD, and Jordan didn’t read any of them at all. So we had 3 different pov’s going on which is good. Lots of different opinions on stuff.

The movie started off and I had a good feeling, the whole part with Darren in the casket was cool, and Mr. Tiny being there was just creepy XD BTW Mr. Tiny was awesome in this movie just so evil!! Perfect casting for him The opening credits were pretty cool, kinda long but I got the whole meaning of them. I liked how Darren and Steve were being controlled like puppets, which they are in the series sort of. I liked Steve’s actor too, freaking crazy!!! He was totally evil, a total Steve and the contacts added a creepy touch. The Cirque part was pretty cool too! I never liked the Wolman so I didn’t care what he looked like, though he did look very silly. Mr. Tall didn’t seem….tall at times; I guess its hard 2 do that? Not sure, his actor was pretty cool though. I loved Evra, everyone else is like “why does he have that music?!” I was like that’s freakin awesome!!

Now onto the most important character EVERY, Mr. Larten Crepsley. Now there are mixed reviews but I absolutely LOVED John C. Reilly as Larten! I loved his deadpan humor but also his tough love for Darren. To me he played in perfectly and every time he was on the screen I was always giggling, I was having laughing fits during that movie XD Though the whole relationship with Truska was very wtf, kinda caught me off guard! But her actor was really good too, I liked her a lot.

The monkey girl, Rebecca I believe, can go bye bye, I didn’t like her too much though he awkward scenes with Darren were HILARIOUS XD

The ending fights were really cool too! Though the effects with Steve and Darren were kinda weird, I still liked it! And when Darren was like “Steve don’t go” and Steve was like e”why would I stay with you and a bunch of freaks?” I was like, ouch burn! That friendship is sadly gone, but I don’t think Darren minds that much……In the movie anyway.

The effects in the movie were pretty cool, I wasn’t really too picky about them. I never got bored during this movie, it kept me on the edge of my seat and I enjoyed it! The humor was great too, especially Mr. Crepsley’s sarcasm, I thought it was great XD Does anyone know that song that was playing while he was digging up Darren? I really liked it!!!
My fav part in the movie is tied with three, all with Larten of course, the first was his performance at the cirque that was sooo cool! I loved him dancing with madam octa! The second was when Crepsley and Darren were talking in the theater that was really good too; I loved how Larten would disappear from one place to another. And the last I think was the whole graveyard scene that was epic, loved it

So in the end I really loved the movie!! I plan to see it for the 3rd time sometime this week XD I wasn’t too picky, I knew it could never capture the awesomeness of the book and I went in with low expectations, but came out LOVING it!! So I really recommend it for anyone!! The first time we saw it, there was like 5 people in there with us but last night there was like 15 and most of them were adults!! That really surprised me.
So I give it an 8/10 reviews are fun to do!!!
